The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is organized into large divisions and subdivided into departments.
As your employer, there are a few HDSB Board staff that you may wish to contact directly to find out the answers to questions, and others that the Union would contact on your behalf. Almost every Board staff an EA would need to contact is part of the Human Resources Department.
The Union typically deals with Human Resources and Student Services however, we can interact with other Board departments as well. Union members typically speak with only front line Board staff and occasionally, the staff's department manager. HDEAA also works with the upper management level as well.
It is best to contact Board staff through email and to email the right person to ask questions of. On the Board contact list, you will see ‘HDEAA’ next to staff responsible for our worker group.
The Board’s ‘myhdsb’ site is a good source of contact information.
Your Administration at your work location, Manger, Principal, Vice Principal, is your supervisor and the contact for your day-to-day employment. Human Resources is the next usual contact.
